The Duke Blue Devils do not mind a mudpit win every now and then. Getting down and dirty in the defensive world of college basketball is in Duke’s comfort zone anyway. For the largest part of the ACC match up, Duke could not hit the broad side of a barn. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets seemed mired in that funk the entire game. This left the win dangling in front of the Devils as they had just enough hot streaks to win comfortably. Read more...

Christian Laettner, a six foot eleven inch center, played for the Duke Blue Devils from 1988 until 1992, where he won back-to-back championships in 1991 and 1992. Laettner is considered one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. He went on to be drafted by the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1992 draft and played for 13 years in the NBA with the Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards. Bobby Hurley, a point guard from New Jersey, helped the Duke Blue Devils to a pair of NCAA Men’s national championships in 1991 and 1992. He was named as one of the 50 best players in Atlantic Coast Conference history. Read more...
