Putting a Bad Hole behind You
Golf is not a perfect game, it’s far from it. Many people do not realise that golf is a game of intense learning that takes a lifetime and more to master. Not even Tiger Woods does everything right and this means that he too, also has to put his bad holes behind him and come up with a method of doing this. Did you know? Tiger Woods has an action with his Caddy where he is allowed to vent his anger 30 seconds after each shot. Tiger Wood’s caddy then walks on in front of Tiger and then turns back after the time has passed and encourages Tiger to carry on and look at his next shot. Something must work; he’s the number one player in the world! Let’s take a look at how you can improve your after hole management.
Do not let your Anger get to You
Many people just through their clubs about and swear all the words under the sun. They do not realize that a lot of these actions are doing them more harm than good. For one they are making a complete silly duck of themselves and they are also hindering the rest of their golf game. Golfers hit their worst shots when they are angry, so if you are looking to make your golf score get even higher, carry on being angry!
Follow your Pre-shot Routine
It’s important in golf to have a pre-shot routine and this means that you need to use this every time to make sure you do not let your anger get to you. Step back and evaluate your situation. Look at your next shot and make sure you do every step that you would usually do. It’s all too common to forget to do something and this disturbs your rhythm and this leads to shots lost.
Try Relaxation Methods
I find this the best form of coping with a bad hole and it’s generally what most golf games are about for most people. People play golf as a recreational sport and want to spend the time relaxing with their friends and family playing a good game of golf. If you are finding times angry, you need to step back and take a deep breath. Count to 10 and approach the golf ball again. Close your eyes and remember that is only a game and that you have all the time in the world to try and improve your golf with the next shot and even the next game. Learn to master your bad days and the good days will come a plenty.
